The project that enabled us to start is called ‘Tra Vinh Demonstration Farm and Community Service Center’. Kim Delta Vietnam received a grant from the Resilient Futures Fund. RFF is an initiative which aims to strengthen resilience and increase opportunities for climate solutions led by, involving or benefiting women and girls, by providing catalytic capital and support. RFF is managed by 2X Global and supported by Amazon, Reckitt, the Skoll Foundation, the UPS Foundation, and the Visa Foundation.

For each component of Mekong Products, we are actively looking for additional funding. One came with a contract award, again the Kim Delta Vietnam, thatis managing the start up of Mekong Products, from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) for an assignment that is related to the upscaling of the Loop Farm: ‘Environmental data for Sustainable Salinity Adaptation’. Water and Evironmental Data is needed for making informed decisions on various levels: farm, commune and province. The data, collected in a database, can used for analysis via a publicly avaiable GIS application.

One of the Loop Farm components that we think can have a big impact on improving the environmental situation in the Mekong Delta, especially regarding surface water quality, is ‘Reduced Surface water pollution through freshwater fish RAS’. This funding gives us the opportunity to go deeper into figuring out how to accomplish Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) for freshwater fish. This project is funded again by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).
