We believe that if you want farmers to produce with environmental sustainable practices, they need to be able to make a profit with what these ‘new’ practices. Therefore if you show them a new practice on the demo farm, you must at the same time ensure market access with most likely a higher sales price to cover the investments. To be able to make these investments, they may need a seed fund, because loans are difficult to obtain. And finally probably some training is needed for business administration and for the new technology.
